With a company like Apple, the role of information systems and operations is critical. ​Apple employs a holistic approach to ensure quality management and assurance. ​Apple's Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Williams, communicates with other Chief Officers and VPs to ensure that all aspects of operations complies with Apple's quality standards. ​Apple is high quality in product design and development, retail, marketing, online sales, industrial design, and human resource management. ​

 


What information systems are used?​

Apple creates its own hardware (Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, iWatch). Its operation system is also its own (iOS). However, Apple doesn’t produce its apps. Apple relies on third party creators for apps. Apple's data is widespread. It takes in data from its suppliers, employees, customers, and so on. Apple's procedure includes innovating new products and services and selling them. ​People are involved at every step of the system. There are suppliers, employees, and customers.
