Marketing

Apple Inc. company logo is an apple with a piece missing, as if someone were to have taken a bite out of it. In conveying the mission and vision of the company I think this logo is somewhat ineffective. However, Apple is not just any company and their logo is known all around the world. I along with millions of other people can look at that logo and know who and what it represents. The global presence and influence of Apple is unmatched in my opinion by any other company.
Apple’s CMO is Phillip W. Schiller, he has been a member of the company’s team since 1997. As CMO, Phillip W. Schiller is the chief marketing officer. This means that he is responsible for overseeing and creating the marketing strategy of the entire company, and is responsible for the marketing activities of the company. Apple’s marketing strategy is somewhat unique compared to other companies. When marketing their goods they tend to appeal to people’s emotions and promote experiences rather than the actual product. An example would be when they first began marketing the IPad, instead of displaying the IPad alone they showed an IPad being used by a family during someone’s birthday. With these marketing strategies, Apple seems more relatable to the average consumer.
Apple’s marketing mix (4 P’s) are: products such as the IPad, IPod, and IPhone. Locations where they sell these goods such as Apple stores both physical locations as wells as online. Promotions like commercials that appeal to the viewers emotions and make the product relatable and personal. And when it comes to pricing Apple somewhat acts like a type of monopoly by which they are a price setter. One of the most recent examples would be the new IPhone X which is priced at $1,000.  One google trend analysis shows that mostly wealthy or developed countries such as the USA, Canada, and most of Europe had a high search interest in products such as the IPhone. Another google trend analysis showed that the search term Apple peaked around holidays and when Apple released new products.
